LIP FILLER
If you’d like to feel more confident in your smile, improving the appearance of your lips can really help to increase your confidence. Whether you want a subtle enhancement or something a bit more bold, we can achieve whatever it is you are after, this will be discussed at your consultation before starting your treatment.
Lip filler not only creates beautiful shape, structure and volume, but it is also used for anti-ageing purposes. By filling the lip with a very small amount of high quality filler it helps to restore the lost volume, therefore plumping out lines and wrinkles in and around the lip.
What to expect during the treatment?
If you are new to lip filler it is totally normal to be anxious however there really is no need to be. After we have fully discussed the treatment and the results you wish to achieve, we will apply a topical numbing cream to your lips to help with any discomfort. We mainly use 2 types of filler for lips in our clinic, either Revolax or Juvederm (others can be used on request). If you are unsure which one to book it does not matter as we can decide which will be best for you following the consultation, depending on what your desired outcome is, and after your lips have been assessed by Advanced Practitioner, Bex. All the filler we use contains Lidocaine which will further numb your lips making the whole procedure much more comfortable. We can go as fast or as slow as you like during your appointment, there is no rush and you are our main priority.
What to expect after the treatment?
It is completely normal once the numbing has worn off for your lips to feel a little tender, paracetamol can be taken if required, although this is rarely needed. You must expect to have some swelling and bruising, these are both the most common side effects of any aesthetic treatment. Swelling can be managed with a cold compress and will go down after 2–3 days. Bruising doesn’t tend to be severe with our clients here as Bex has perfected her technique over the years. We always ask that you avoid caffeine, alcohol and exercise for 24 hours before your treatment as this really does help to reduce the severity of bruising. A full aftercare explanation will be given to you before you leave the clinic, and you will be given our phone number to call if you have any questions post treatment. All swelling and bruising will be completely gone after a maximum of 2 weeks.
