PDO THREADS
What are PDO Threads?
PDO (polydioxanone) threads are made with either one or two twisted fibre threads which dissolve in the skin tissue after 6 months. This is exactly the reaction we want to see from aesthetic PDO mono Threads because collagen builds up around the thread and creates a tightening effect in that area over time. Multiple treatments of PDO Threads result in many columns of collagen formation, creating a dense structural support framework within the skin.
Are PDO Threads the right treatment for you?
If you are looking for tighter and more revitalised skin this is the treatment for you. Threads can treat almost any areas of concern on your face. Areas where fine lines have appeared and areas where the skin is starting to lose its elasticity such as your nasolabial lines, crows feet, cheeks, jawline or even on your neck.
2 to 3 treatments will be required initially 1 month apart, then a maintenance top up will be required yearly to maintain the results. There are so many options with PDO Threads and they can treat so much, just pop us a message to see how they could benefit you!
What to expect during & after treatment?
Before starting any treatment our Practitioner Bex will fully explain how the treatment works and assess if it is the correct treatment for you and your goals.
A topical numbing is applied to the skin to minimise any discomfort and then microscopic threads are inserted into the skin’s dermis layer. It is a minimally invasive procedure hence the downtime after the treatment is also minimal, you can expect only mild swelling and minor bruising.
Will PDO Threads provide an instant lift?
People commonly mistake that PDO Mono Threads give an instant lift to severely sagging tissue, this is not the case. PDO Mono Threads focus on improving skin laxity and quality by stimulating collagen formation. If you are looking for an instant and visible lift, other treatments such as COG Threads would be more suited to you if this is the result you are looking for but is a much more invasive procedure and results can vary.
